I think I have a UTI

Of course who knows, I've never had one before, but my girlfriend at work gets them and it sounds like it to her. It burns like the devil when I pee, I've been peeing more than usual and I feel crappy. I also have what appear to be little blisters in the general area, if you know what I mean, they hurt also. It is not pleasant at all. I am taking acidophalus (sp) and garlic and eating yogurt and BF is picking me up some cranberry juice and bringing it to work today. Hopefully I can get rid of this soon w/out going to the drs.
So I ended up not speaking to my sister over the weekend, I spent a lot of time with my mom and doing errands for her and basically figured out how to take care of things from here. I have someone who is going to clean her house every week and he already does her errands, I'm paying him an extra $20 a week for the cleaning portion, my mom already pays him for running errands. BF and I will be going up to visit once a month and doing my moms Walmart shopping when we are up there plus any extra errands she needs done. That should take care of most of the issues and it's the most I can realistically go up there. I also wrote my sister a letter and mailed it yesterday, she should get it today or tomorrow. It was not mean but I was honest about what I'm willing to do and what I think are unreasonable demands on her part. I also mentioned that she should have asked me for help instead of taking her anger and frustration out on my mom. I don't know how she'll respond, but I think it was better than having a confrontation in person.

Girl, call the doctor now. Maybe they can call out some antibiotics. These things do not typically do anything but get worse until you treat them, and they require bigtime antibiotics to get them to go away.

You can buy over-the-counter analgesic at any drug or grocery store that will make you a lot more comfortable in the meantime. (One brand is called Uristat.) It's usually with the feminine hygiene stuff. It'll turn your pee bright orange and stain your underwear, but it will give you blessed relief. You can also try drinking lots of cranberry juice or taking the cranberry concentrate capsules to prevent another one, but to get rid of this one, you're going to need antibiotics. Don't wait--do it now.

Call the doctor tomorrow. These can be nasty infections and if you take a butt load of antibiotics, get ready for a yeast infection too (if that's not what this already is).

Doctor first thing in the morning.

Ok, so I kind of met y'all halfway. I had some antibiotics from when I was going thru chemo that were not expired and I looked them up online and found out they are prescribed for UTI's as well as lung problems so I started taking those yesterday. I also took a test you can buy in the store for UTI's and it came back positive so hopefully the antibiotics will work cuz this sucks.

In looking at pics online I'm starting to think it's something else, something I'm not going to be very happy about. Going to an Urgent care tomorrow... :(

Sounds like the boyfriend is in trouble. Blisters are most likely from an STD. -blu

I kinda wondered about that when I saw the word "blisters," too. If that's what it is, why in HELL wouldn't he TELL you about it? Denial?

Just to be fair, this article states that a person may get it from a partner who doesn't have a sore and may not know they are infected. Let's give him benefit of doubt until Beanns knows for sure what it is and has discussed it with him. His shock and dismay may be just as great.

Ummm, he probably did not know he has herpes, but is the same man who did some porn with his ex roommate? Shocker then. Just deal with it and move on, nothing you can do about it now. Be thankful it wasn't something more serious, and I hope that you got his clean status on anything more serious before sleeping with him. And if not, I suggest you do considering the current scenario.-blu
