For Alex

Alex, you will be happy to know I was able to shag my BF Monday night. I'm back baby! ;)

In other news, one of our cats, Mookie, has a tooth that looks rotten, we're going to take him the the vet on Saturday. Monkee is still having skin trouble and still half bald, I started giving her cod liver oil today. Morris is ok, except he always tries to escape and he did get out yesterday; luckily he didn't run off and I was able to grab him and throw him back inside. Darn cats.

I am going to try to drive today for the first time. The doc said I could, but I drive a stick, not sure how that will be since I still can't stand up completely straight... I'll let you know how the expiriment goes :)

Sliced and diced

So I'm finally feeling sort of like myself again. I had the surgery to make me a new boob about a week and a half ago. I was in the hospital for 4 days, then was released with three drains still in, a big ole incision across my tummy and my new patchwork boob. I have to walk bent over a bit, which makes my back hurt most of the time, especially by the end of the day. But today I had the last of the drains taken out (big old hole in my abdomen from it, yuck), and I am finally feeling kind of normal again. The doctor said I can start walking now, I can wear a bra, I do still have to wear the binder/girdle thing for at least another couple of weeks, but that's ok. I'm supposed to be out of work for another 4-6 weeks, but I'm going to try to go back in 2-3 weeks (I never stay out as long as I'm supposed to, why change now?).
Everything at home is going pretty well, the BF is awesome, he's taken really good care of me. My ex-MIL came and stayed for 5 days to help out and he was really appreciative, didn't weird him out at all. My mom is in convalescent care at the moment, she fell down right around the time I had surgery and was in the hospital for about a week, then moved to extended care. She's doing a lot better, going thru physical therapy which she really likes, and hopefully she'll feel more stable and strong when they send her home in about two weeks.
We got a beta fish and we have three bumblebee shrimp in with him, we also had to get two more sucker fishes because my big old guy died, so now we have two tanks and one bowl, with one big gold fish, one beta, four danios, three bumblebee shrimp and two sucker fishes (and a partridge in a pear tree...). Plus of course the three cats who get along a lot better now but somehow got fleas (maybe from me going horseback riding), so we had to get Advantage and Monkee had to go to the doctor and get a shot... it's always something! But life is good, and I am happy to have Hooters again instead of just one Hoot!
