Weekend wrapup

I had a really nice weekend, busy but really enjoyable. Saturday the BF and I did a lot of cleaning around the house because we were having people over on Sunday to watch the Oscars, and we ran some errands and went to the grocery store. Then the rest of the day we just watched TV and movies and hung around the house. Sunday I got to go riding with my landlord, just around the horse ring because it was kind of ugly outside but he said next weekend we'll go for a trail ride. He seemed a little impressed that I actually kind of know what I'm doing and he gave me a pair of cowboy boots to wear from now on as I only had my regular boots. It's definitely a bonus to have horses right on the property and landlords willing to take me riding, in my opinion. BF isn't at all interested in going with me, but oh well, maybe I'll get him on a horse eventually.
Then around 4:00 people started arriving for our party, we had 9 people total including BF and me and we all put in $5 and filled out Oscar ballots and the person with the most correct won the $45. I was tied with my friend Karla for most correct most of the night, with BF and another guy also being in the running, but then Karla pulled ahead and won. She got 19 of 24 correct, the bitch, I only got 15. Anyway, we had fun and I think all of our friends did too, and that's the important thing. As for the winners, I knew Heath would win and his family members gave nice acceptance speaches, it was really touching. I wanted Anne Hathaway to win but knew Kate would and she did. I voted for Mickey but Sean took it, that was ok and I also voted for Penelope who won. Slumdog took a whole slew of awards and I voted for them for Best Picture and director so that was cool. It wasn't the best Oscars ever but it was far from the worst, plus if you are drinking and eating with friends it makes it ever so much more enjoyable :)
And that was my weekend, how was yours?

Valentine's Day

Happy V-day everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow with your sweeties! This is the first V-day I've had a sweetie in a decade, it's pretty cool. He sent me red roses to work today and I know tomorrow we are going to lunch at an Indian place we like and to a movie. Not sure what we are doing for dinner. I got him a book about being a super hero cuz he likes that kind of thing and I also bought us a sexy adult game to play. I've ordered a business card holder for him but it hasn't come in yet; keep your fingers crossed it comes today. What are all of you doing for your assorted sweet hearts for V-day, if anything?

This is also a three day weekend for both of us, Monday is President's day so we get to spend all weekend together doing whatever we want, which might be hardly anything. I do want to plant some stuff in the yard but it's supposed to rain all weekend so I might not be able to. I can at least put more stuff away in the house and try to get it arranged.

I met the new plastic surgeon yesterday, the appt went well, now they have to request authorization from the insurance company and then we have to set a date. If it works out I'm going to try for end of March so I can be all healed and stuff by summer. They said I'd have to stay in the hospital for 4 days and out of work for 6 weeks, I was only out for 2 1/2 weeks after the mastectomy, but this also involves a tummy tuck. Then I have to go back several times to have other stuff done, but that first part is the hardest.

I've been so dang busy!

Urg, I haven't had time to do any blogging, at home or work, it's just been so dang busy!

At work we had an all staff get together with the CU we're merging with last Saturday and we were getting ready for that for several weeks. It went off well, but it was a lot of work which we here at my CU did most of (like 85%).

At home... omg, so much to do! Saturday before said event the BF and I moved the rest of my stuff and I cleaned a bit, then did the walk thru. If I get anything back that'd be great, I'm not sure I even put up a security when I moved in. All week leading up to that I was moving stuff in my car a little at a time, all the big stuff went a week ago Sunday via movers. They broke one thing, guess what it was? My Martha Washington sewing table from the 18th century. Yep, broke three of the legs right off, shattered them actually. BF said he'll help me put new legs on it, but of course it's not really an antique now, is it? Oh well, crap happens. I finally got the kitchen organized last night, we had to add a lot of storage as there was almost none, now tonight I'm planning on cleaning and organizing the bathroom, then taking a bubble bath. I also need to do the rest of the house and I want to plant some flowers in the garden, and... sigh.

We bought three cute little gold fish, named them Cracker, Creamsicle & Red and Creamsicle bought the farm last night which sucks. Hopefuly the other two will last a while.

I met the landlords, both really nice, they live right behind us and the woman told me I can plant whatever I want, she'd love for me to do some gardening so she doesn't have to. She said she'll weed but I can put in whatever I like. She has three horses and boards several more and she's going to take me riding with her, I'm in heaven! :)

That's about it for now, once I have the house arranged I'll try to post some pics for y'all. In the meantime, here's a pic of the fishies (RIP Creamsicle).
